Learning and working life competencies in a future perspective – challenges in professional education /

The Conference fee is 350 € and includes:
- Coffee and refreshments each day
- Lunch each day
- Get together on Wednesday evening and dinner on Thursday evening
Aspects of the theme which may be emphasised are:
• Transfer of learning between school and workplaces
• Comprehensive education and training within different arenas
• Transitions between learning contexts and between education and work.
• Cooperation between participants in different arenas (teachers, trainers, etc.)
• Digitization in school with a view to working life
• Emphasis on generic skills / core competencies in schools and workplaces
• Vocational teachers role between school and workplaces
The conference is a meeting place for those involved in research and development work in the field of vocational pedagogy and didactics.

As in previous years, the program will consist of plenary sessions, paper presentations, symposia and workshops. In addition to last year there will also be poster presentations.
Your abstract should be submitted no later than 28th February 2019 to Camilla Wikström-Grotell, firstname.lastname@example.org
The abstract should be between 300 and 400 words and contain the author’s name, email address, purpose, theoretical framework, method/research design, and (preliminary) results. Notice of acceptance will be sent by end of March 2019.

Articles may, optionally, be published in The Nordic Journal of Vocational Education and Training (NJVET), normal review procedures.
The venue will be at Arcada UAS, Helsinki, Finland.
The programme starts with lunch at 12.00 noon on Wednesday 12th of June and finishes with lunch to-go on Friday 14th of June at 12.00 pm. On Wednesday evening there will be a get-together and the conference dinner will be held on Thursday evening.
Please note that accommodation must be arranged and paid for by participants directly to the hotel. You can book rooms at Scandic hotels in Helsinki with the code FIARB to get the best price of the day. From the following Scandic hotels you can easily reach Arcada UAS and they are all situated downtown.
Please note that Helsinki is a very popular place to stay in at that time. So book your stay as soon as possible.
